Vladimir Putin Talks Trump Election on ‘Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly’ Premiere
An interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin was the first package on the series premiere of Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly. Former Fox News staple Kelly had her hands full with the head man in Russian for the past 17 years.
When Kelly tried to ask Putin about Russian involvement in the 2016 U.S. election, the Russian president turned the tables on America, saying, “I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but the United States everywhere all over the world actively interferes with electoral campaigns of other countries.” He then challenged her by saying, “Put your finger anywhere on a map of the world, and everywhere you will hear complaints that American officials are interfering in internal electoral processes.”
Ultimately, Putin thought the notion that Russia somehow was involved in Donald Trump’s election was nonsense. He claimed, “You created a sensation out of nothing, and out of this sensation you turn it into a weapon of war against the current president.” The former KGB spymaster then took a little dig at the American public: “You people are so creative over there, good job. Your lives must be boring.”
Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly airs Sundays at 7 p.m. on NBC.
