‘The Voice‘ Contestant Is Surprisingly Left Out of the Top 10
Mark Isaiah and Stephanie Rice ended up as the bottom two contestants on The Voice Tuesday night. While it was no surprise that Mark was on the chopping block again, it was shocking to see Stephanie standing next to him. While Stephanie didn’t light iTunes on fire this week, she did chart higher than four other Voice contestants. But because Stephanie still ended up in the bottom two, it meant she had to sing for her life to make it to the Top 10.
Stephanie sang “Issues” by Julia Michaels, which seemed like a direct message to America, with lyrics such as: “I got issues, and one of them is how bad I need you.” Stephanie’s coach, Alicia Keys, was obviously begging for votes. After commenting about how talented Stephanie is, Alicia added, “You are exactly what an artist is supposed to be. And America, I implore you — I implore America to save Stephanie tonight.”
Mark also made a plea to America when he sang “7 Years” by Lukas Graham. It was the third time Mark faced elimination. Even though Stephanie has consistently been better than Mark, Adam Levine’s youngest remaining contestant continued to get the benefit of the Instant Twitter Save as he made it into the Top 10.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch The Voice on Yahoo View, available on iOS and Android.
