You’ll Get It, Dude! Hulu Gets Streaming Rights for ’90s TGIF Shows
Bust out your mood rings and your neon windbreakers, because TGIF is back! That’s right, Hulu recently bought the streaming rights to ABCs ’90s TGIF lineup, and, starting Sept. 29, you can catch the milkman, the paperboy, and evening TV whenever you want. Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper will be available in their entirety, which means over 800 episodes of ’90s goodness.
Not every TGIF property made the cut. Boy Meets World and Dinosaurs, both owned by Disney, are being left out of the deal.
The other shows will make their Hulu debut on the heels of the 30th anniversary of Full House and the 25th anniversary of Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper. Netflix, which recently aired Fuller House, an original series set as a sequel to Full House, might not be too thrilled about all this. But maybe the two streaming giants can settle their differences over some popcorn and Squeezits on a Friday night on the couch.
