I grew up loving the sun, but more so, I loved getting a good tan. I regret to say I used to lie in a tanning bed almost once a day during my junior year of high school. Luckily, as I got older, I realized how important it is to wear sunscreen and take care of my skin.

Although I never could give up the tan. In college, I turned to spray tanning and self-tanning at home to get my glow on. Yes, there were more than a few times I turned out orange or my hands looked like I had been staining a patio. But now, a few years into my self-tan journey, I can say I’ve found the perfect at-home tanning solution.

I’m kind of obsessed with the Tan-Luxe THE BODY Illuminating Self-Tan Drops. You simply mix a few drops into your body lotion or moisturizer for a subtle, natural-looking tan. Of course, the more drops you add to the lotion, the darker your tan will be. I like to go light and use it every other day to build a tan. I also like to mix it with my Olay Vitamin C + Peptide Moisturizer to give my face a little extra glow. Although I have pretty sensitive, oily skin, it never breaks me out.

I’ve also found that some self-tanners dry out your skin, but Tan-Luxe’s THE BODY Drops contain raspberry seed oil, vitamin E and aloe vera for added hydration. Additionally, they have something called Cellutone Complex to firm the look of your skin, and according to the packaging, this can reduce the appearance of cellulite.

A few other perks: You won’t look orange, it doesn’t smell, and it won’t stain your clothes. THE BODY Drops feel similar to a serum, and while the product is a bronze color, you don’t really notice it once it’s mixed into your lotion.

The Tan-Luxe THE BODY Illuminating Self-Tan Drops come in two different shades — light/medium and medium/dark — and a bottle retails for $60. However, these drops last a pretty long time. I’ve had my bottle for over a few months now, and I use it pretty frequently. Of course, it will depend on how many drops you use. If you like a lighter tan, you could always get the medium/dark and just use fewer drops.

I should note that Tan-Luxe also makes a separate bottle of self-tanning drops called THE FACE that contains the same hydrating ingredients but skips the Cellutone Complex. You can get a small bottle of that one for just $25 in light/medium or medium/dark shades.

Seriously, take my word for it — my friends can attest to the number of self-tanners I’ve tried. If you have a vacation, wedding or graduation coming up or if you just want to glow every day, it’s worth a shot.
